Acceptable Use Policy
Summary: This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of Portovo, a wealth aggregation and AI advisory platform. It supplements our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. By accessing or using Portovo, you agree to this AUP.
We've written this in plain English where we can. Where the law makes that hard, we've kept the legal phrasing tight. If anything is unclear, please email us before assuming.
1. Who this applies to
This AUP applies to every person who accesses Portovo, including account holders, authorised users on a household plan, and anyone using credentials issued to a Portovo account. You are responsible for the conduct of anyone you give access to your account.
Portovo is intended for individual personal use by adults aged 18 or over, primarily high-net-worth individuals managing their own wealth. It is not designed or licensed for institutional use, fund management, or providing advice to clients.
2. The AI specialists are not your financial advisor
Portovo's "Fractional Specialists" use Claude (an AI model from Anthropic) to analyse the asset data you enter and produce commentary, summaries, and suggestions. You must understand the following before relying on any output:
- Informational only. Everything the Specialists produce is for informational and educational purposes. It is not financial advice, investment advice, legal advice, tax advice, accounting advice, insurance advice, or a recommendation to buy, sell, hold, or transact in any asset.
- No fiduciary relationship. Using Portovo does not create an advisor-client, fiduciary, or professional relationship between you and Portovo or any Specialist.
- You must consult licensed professionals. Before acting on anything you read in Portovo, consult a licensed financial advisor, lawyer, tax agent, accountant, or other appropriate professional regulated in your jurisdiction (including OJK-licensed advisors in Indonesia and SC- or BNM-regulated advisors in Malaysia).
- AI can be wrong. Large language models can hallucinate, misread numbers, miss context, mis-cite sources, get arithmetic wrong, and produce confident-sounding output that is materially incorrect. Always verify independently.
- Past performance is not future performance. Any historical figures, projections, scenario analyses, or comparisons reflect data we have at a point in time. They do not predict future returns. Markets, currencies, regulations, and tax treatment change.
- You bear the risk. You assume all risk for any decision you make, or fail to make, based on Portovo output. Portovo is not liable for any losses, missed gains, tax exposure, or other consequences of relying on Specialist commentary.
If a Specialist response ever feels like a directive, treat it as a starting point for a conversation with a real licensed professional, not a green light.
3. Bank account linking and Brick
Portovo is integrating with Brick (a licensed account information provider) to let you connect bank accounts so balances and transactions can flow into your portfolio automatically. By using this feature you agree to the following:
- You authorise the connection. When you link an account, you authorise Portovo and Brick to retrieve read-only account information (balances, transactions, account metadata) from your financial institution on your behalf.
- We never see your banking credentials. Authentication happens between you and your bank (or between you, Brick, and your bank). Portovo does not receive, store, or transmit your online banking username, password, OTP, PIN, or biometric identifier.
- Read-only access. The connection cannot move money, place orders, or change any setting at your bank. If you ever see a request for write access, that is not Portovo and you should report it to us immediately.
- You can revoke at any time. You can disconnect any linked account from inside Portovo settings, or by contacting us. Disconnection takes effect immediately for ongoing data pulls. Historical data already retrieved is handled per our Privacy Policy.
- Use of your bank data. We use bank data only to populate your portfolio, power your Specialists, and produce features you've enabled. We do not sell it, do not share it with advertisers, and do not use it for marketing without your separate, specific opt-in consent.
- Regulatory compliance. We operate the Brick integration consistent with OJK regulations applicable to account aggregation in Indonesia and Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) and Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) requirements applicable in Malaysia, including obtaining your informed consent before initiating any data retrieval.
If your bank's terms prohibit aggregation services, the conflict is between you and your bank; please review your bank agreement before linking.
4. Prohibited uses
You may not use Portovo, or allow anyone using your account to use Portovo, for any of the following:
4.1 Unlawful conduct
- Money laundering, terrorism financing, sanctions evasion, or tax evasion.
- Fraud, identity theft, embezzlement, market manipulation, insider trading, or any financial crime.
- Drug trafficking, human trafficking, weapons trafficking, child sexual abuse material, or any other activity unlawful in your jurisdiction or in Singapore.
- Any activity that violates UU PDP (Indonesia), PDPA (Malaysia), or equivalent data protection or financial-services laws applicable to you.
4.2 Misuse of the platform
- Using Portovo to provide financial, investment, tax, or legal advice to any third party. Portovo is for managing your own wealth (and that of your household, where authorised). If you are a licensed advisor wanting to use Portovo with clients, contact us about a separate agreement; do not use a personal account.
- Uploading, entering, or linking assets that do not belong to you, that you have no legal interest in, or that you are not authorised to disclose.
- Inputting another person's personal data without their consent and a lawful basis.
4.3 Security and integrity
- Bypassing, disabling, or interfering with authentication, authorisation, rate limits, or any security feature.
- Probing, scanning, or testing the vulnerability of Portovo's systems without our written permission. (Coordinated disclosure: email security@portovo.app.)
- Introducing malware, ransomware, worms, logic bombs, or any code intended to harm Portovo or its users.
- Attempting to access data, accounts, or environments belonging to other users.
4.4 Reverse engineering and scraping
- Reverse engineering, decompiling, or disassembling Portovo's software, except to the limited extent applicable law expressly permits.
- Scraping, crawling, or systematically extracting Portovo content or AI output, whether by humans or automated tools.
- Training, fine-tuning, or evaluating any machine-learning model on Portovo output without our written permission.
4.5 Automated access
- Using bots, scripts, headless browsers, or other automation to interact with the AI Specialists or any rate-limited endpoint.
- Creating multiple accounts to circumvent usage caps, free-tier limits, or pricing tiers.
5. Using the AI prompt bar responsibly
The Specialist prompt bar accepts free-form input. Treat it like a serious tool, not a sandbox.
You agree not to:
- Inject prompts intended to override, bypass, or subvert system instructions, safety filters, or our content policies.
- Extract system prompts, internal configuration, hidden context, or other proprietary scaffolding.
- Generate harmful content including instructions for weapons or violence, content that sexualises minors, malware, defamatory statements about identifiable people, or material designed to harass or threaten.
- Generate regulated advice for third parties (see Section 4.2).
- Spam the model with high-volume, low-value, or automated queries that interfere with service for other users.
- Use the AI to launder content through Portovo to anonymise or obscure its origin in a way intended to deceive.
We may log, review, and rate-limit prompts and responses to enforce this AUP, debug the product, and meet our obligations to Anthropic. Do not paste content into the prompt bar that you would not be comfortable having reviewed in this way.
6. Your data, your responsibility
Portovo is only as accurate as the inputs it receives. You are responsible for:
- The accuracy, completeness, and currency of every asset value, cost basis, holding quantity, valuation date, and note you enter manually.
- Updating Portovo when material changes happen — for example, when you sell a property, rebalance an investment, change insurance coverage, or revalue an illiquid asset.
- Reconciling auto-imported data against your source-of-truth statements. Aggregator data can lag, miscategorise, or miss transactions; we recommend a periodic check.
- The accuracy of any personal data you enter about household members, beneficiaries, or business co-owners, and ensuring you have a lawful basis to enter it.
Portovo is not liable for losses, missed opportunities, tax exposure, or other harm arising from outdated, incorrect, or incomplete data you provided or failed to update.
7. Account security
Your account protects sensitive financial information. You agree to:
- Use a strong, unique password and a current email address you control.
- Enable multi-factor authentication where Portovo offers it, and keep your second-factor device secure.
- Never share your password, magic-link emails, or session tokens with anyone, including people claiming to be Portovo support. We will never ask for your password.
- Log out on shared, public, or borrowed devices.
- Notify us promptly at security@portovo.app if you suspect unauthorised access, a lost device, a phishing attempt impersonating Portovo, or any other security concern.
You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account. We are not liable for loss arising from your failure to keep credentials secure, but we will work with you in good faith on any incident.
8. Suspension, termination, and enforcement
We want to keep Portovo safe, lawful, and useful. To do that, we reserve the right to:
- Investigate suspected violations of this AUP, our Terms, or applicable law.
- Warn you and ask you to stop or remediate.
- Restrict specific features (for example, AI Specialists, bank linking) while we investigate.
- Suspend your account, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe continued access poses risk to you, other users, Portovo, or third parties — or if law or regulator direction requires it.
- Terminate your account for material or repeated violations of this AUP, fraud, abuse of staff, non-payment, or other serious cause.
- Refuse service to anyone, at our discretion, where we reasonably believe doing so is necessary to comply with law, protect users, or protect the platform.
For terminations not based on a violation (for example, if we discontinue a product line), we'll give you reasonable advance notice and a window to export your data.
After account closure, we may retain certain data where law, regulator request, or legitimate dispute-resolution needs require it, in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable retention rules under UU PDP and PDPA. Once retention obligations expire, we delete or anonymise.
If we suspend or terminate your account, you remain liable for fees accrued up to that point and for any losses or claims arising from your conduct.
9. Reporting abuse
If you see something that violates this AUP — whether that's a phishing email impersonating Portovo, a security vulnerability, suspected fraud, or AI output that breaks our content rules — please tell us:
- General abuse: hello@portovo.app
- Security: security@portovo.app
We aim to acknowledge within two business days. We do not retaliate against good-faith reporters.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this AUP as the product, our regulators, or the threat landscape evolves. When we make material changes, we'll publish the updated AUP on the Portovo site and, where the change affects your rights or obligations, notify you by email or in-product banner before it takes effect. Your continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
11. Governing law and jurisdiction
This AUP is governed by the laws of Singapore, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. The courts of Singapore have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with this AUP, subject to any non-waivable consumer protections in your country of residence (including Indonesia and Malaysia).
Nothing in this AUP limits your rights under mandatory local law, including UU PDP (Indonesia) and PDPA (Malaysia), or your rights against your financial institution, Brick, or any licensed advisor.
